Beach and Waterfront
We have listed below some of our favourite eating and drinking spots situated by the water
Playa Flamenca Beach – Surfers - This is a surprise entry on our favourites list. Done out like an Aussie sports bar you would be expecting a pub grub menu. Not so…the salads and pasta dishes are made fresh and very tasty, good selection of chicken and meat dishes too. Oh, and then there´s the palm fringed view across the Med.
Cabo Roig Marina – La Bahia – Chosen principally for the location but the food is above average for this kind of restaurant..eat indoors or out, full menu or tapas..or even just a drink in the sunshine. On top of the cliff by the Tower is another restaurant with a fabulous terrace for coffee and tapas. Never eaten there but it looks very posh inside, special occasion place I would think.
Punta Prima, Mil Palmeras, La Zenia – Chiringuitos – We´ve included these in our recommended list not for their cullinery expertise but just for the joy of sitting on the beach people-watching with a glass of beer and a plate of sardinas (which incidentally are delicious and cheap)
Dehesa de Campoamor - El Barraca – Spanish seafood restaurant right on the shoreline beside Campoamor marina, very popular with the Spanish so there´s always a good atmosphere. Locally caught fish dishes are superb if a bit pricey, but you can´t beat the location.
Torrevieja – Marina International – Veni Vidi Vici – superb fresh pasta, salads and meat dishes, outdoor terrace right by the boats. Great for lunch
Santiago de Ribera -
